Hello and blessings to everybody. Before you get on the defensive about the title of this blog, hear me out because I know this is a topic that you will find interesting. Especially if you are married. :) I am writing today to ask you about whehter or not it is godly or ungodly for us not to like other people. The bible says that we should love one another and if we do we will fulfill the law of Christ (paraphrasing). We are supposed to love others in the way that God and Jesus love us. But can anyone tell me about whether or not we have to like everybody. Some people just don't have very agreeable personalities and some people may dress or act in an offensive manner. You hear me? They just might be kind of off or act kind of like something is always wrong with them or like they are always having a bad day. I know we are supposed to be forgiving and kind and all that good stuff but some people just the sound of their voice might just grate on your nerves! And then there are some people who it seems like they try to do things to bother you or to make you mad! What is this? What are we supposed to do with that? In the past, all I would do is if I see that person I just turn around and walk away because I know whatever they have to say, whatever is about to come out of their mouth is not going to be too good for me. I just won't be able to take it. So, I use that longsuffering and patience that God has given me and just walk away. Like Jesus said to turn the other cheek, just walk away and leave it alone. But I know I shouldn't do that. I know I should deal with it and pray and ask God to help me with it. So that's what I'm doing now. Please help me.
What's uuuuup to everybody in the community! I got another little situation that has been on my mind lately about the events going on around the world. Now, yall know we are not supposed to get all caught up in all of this worldly stuff, all of this war stuff and all this talk about fighting and going to battle over oil and all that. Well, one thing that came across my mind is this. There are people who say we are fighting for peace in the Middle East and for their to be peace in Israel, right. So, if there are Jewish people in Israel and if the Jewish people are the ones who crucified Jesus who was the Son of God, even though it was back then a long time ago, if Jesus is the one who is supposed to be our peace, like Juanita Bynum says in that song, my question is this. How are all those people supposed to have any peace if they don't accept the fact that Jesus is who he said he was? Don't they have to accept him for who he was first and then look for there to be peace or to have peace where they live? Or is it something else that we should think about on a more spiritual level? I know the United States government is not saved or anything like that but it just seems that if people are saying that we are fighting for their peace, then there has to be something else going on or something else that has to go along with that. What do you think? Bless you.
Helloooooo to everyone in the "community". Today I have something that is pretty serious on my mind. There is sort of a phenomenon that I have noticed recently regarding people who teach and participate in Bible study classes and such. I have noticed that it seems to be that some people don't want the truth of the Word of God to go forth and for people to learn what the scriptures really mean. For example, let me make it clearer to you. You know there is a scripture in the Bible where the Apostle Paul is preaching and a woman who I think is a witch (I am not exactly sure where it is right now, but I could look it up), she comes behind him and starts yelling and shouting loud about how he is such a great man of God and all of that. Well, she evidently was bothering him and he cast the Devil out of her. There were some people who didn't like that and I think he had to leave. Well, what I am talking about is say for instance you start talking about that story in a Bible study. Some people will try to make it look like the Bible really meant that Paul was wrong for messing with that woman just because she was bothering him. They would say that God's power should only be used to help people who want demons cast out of them if they are hurting themselves or something like that. Do you understand? They would try to make it seem like that story is in the Bible so that we can learn to leave people like that alone because she had a job and she was making money. They would put a different spin on what that story really means and what God is really teaching us. Now to me this goes back to that scripture in I Timothy 4:1-3 where it talks about seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. I don't know about any of you but I know I have noticed and seen some people who claim to be saved and who go to church mixing in some of that witchcraft stuff. Witchcraft, voodoo, wizardry, sorcery, warlocks and all of that. I mean some real divination stuff and all it really is is rebellion. What these people are doing is sitting in these churches and actually teaching people or trying to teach people how to be rebellious and stirring up confusion. And then some of them will even have the nerve to make it seem like God is using them to do this foolishness. And it is real. We all know that witchcraft is real and that isn't even talking about that Harry Potter stuff you see in the movies. I mean some real demonic stuff. So, I just thought I would share that with you. Let me know what you think about it. Have you noticed anything like this? Peace!!
Hello and God bless to everyone in the "community". My question today deals with the Will of God. There is a well-known song by those of us in the Church of God in Christ called "The Will of God" sung by Evangelist Karen Clark-Sheard. The song begins with the words, "The safest place in the whole wide world is in the will of God." I can agree with that song but my problem on this topic is in dealing with it in another way. Now, there have been times when I have attended special services, revivals, evangelistic conventions, and such where a preacher or "prophet" of some kind begins to start to make the assumption to know and to tell some of the members of the congregation what God's will is for them in their lives. My question to you all is, does God give anybody else to know what His will is for you and in your life? Does He tell that secret, sacred information to anyone else besides you? Peace!
Hello and God bless the "community". I am writing to find out what some of you truly think about the statement "we are living in the last days." This statement of course comes from the passages in scripture that talk about perilous times that will come in the last days (see II Timothy 3, II Peter 3, and Hebrews 1). But I know some people who allllllways talk about it. :) Now that is not to say that God is not showing them things or that they are not seeing visions where they have evidence that this is true. But it just seems to me that sometimes people go on and on about bad things, horrible things, and things that kind of make you cringe just to get some kind of reaction from other people. I do know that times are hard and that people are evil. I know for a fact that people are definitely evil and some of them don't want to even be saved and get to know Jesus. I know that there are demons and that the spirit of the Evil One, Satan is always somewhere trying to wreak havoc on the chosen servants of God. But just somebody tell me what you think. Jesus talked about keeping our eyes focused on him and staying on the good path. To me, if we do this we can't go wrong and it seems that we will see what he wants us to see even if it's bad or evil or whatever. But we will see it the way he wants us to see it and then we can pray about it or do something about it. Peace!
