Identity
Posted On 09/30/2008 11:40:16 by chaunekequia25

I often wonder why you can tell who the police, nurse, doctor, and even military people are. Who are the most known group of people who lose their identity? Saints. Saints these days try so hard to fit and look like the world. Jesus never lost his identity of who He was.....why should we? We are not exempt and we are supposed to be that city that's set on a hill that cannot be hid. When looking at some of us, I know people don't see light.  It can be by our attitude, the way we treat peo... Read More

Not-So-Holy Hermits

"He who separates himself seeks his own desire;
he quarrels against all sound wisdom."
[Proverbs 18:1, NASB]

Psalm 50:5 "Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice."

Convocations were called principally to raise material support for the national and jurisdictional levels of the the church. The first national meetings were held for 21 days, from late November to mid-December. According to the Senior YPWW's "COGIC History Series," "the reason for calling the meeting at this time of the year was the fact that practically all of the community of the fa... Read More

2008 COGIC elections
Posted On 08/25/2008 13:23:56 by canegrande

OK. It is nearing the Holy Convocation and this is an election year. Several bishops are seeking seats on the General Board and some may seek run for the office of Presiding Bishop. The current seatholders on the GB are all running to keep their seats. However, this past term has not been without its scandals and embarassment for COGIC, some of them caused by those seeking election/reelection. This is also an opportunity to vet some fresh faces and make some directional/policy changes within... Read More
